He had one of the most legendary careers of anyone in the entertainment business, so it comes with great sadness to report that Dick Clark has passed away.
According to TMZ, the 82-year-old TV producer legend died from a massive heart attack suffered early on Wednesday morning (April 18).
The TMZ report adds that Clark underwent an outpatient procedure at St. John's hospital on Tuesday night - after which he suffered the life-ending heart attack following unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate him.
The "New Year's Rockin' Eve" host is survived by his third wife Kari Wigton, along with three children from his prior two marriages.
